This how-to guide is for a generic mobile phone and assume the phone has a standard micro USB port, Bluetooth connectivity and a headphone socket. For a specific mobile phone visit the Mobile phones page for a full list of makes and models.

Ensure you have download version 1.34 or greater of the latest Jabra Solemate firmware from the official Jabra Solemate support site [1]. After you have set up the speaker you can turn off the default 'Solemate is connected' announcements by holding down the Volume down button when turning on the Jabra Solemate until you hear 'Sound prompts off'.

  1. Follow these steps to pair any mobile phone with the Jabra Solemate. On the right hand side of the speaker locate the power slider, there are three settings - off, on and bluetooth. From the off position slide the power switch all the way to the top and hold it until the indicator light starts flashing blue and you hear the announcement "Go ahead and connect me, use the Bluetooth setting on your phone".
  2. These instructions assume your phone is capable of stream music using Bluetooth. As all mobile phones are different please visit the Mobile phones page to see if your specific make and model is listed first. If the mobile phone is not on the list but supports Bluetooth A2DP streaming then choose the settings or options page on the phone, look for the Bluetooth menu and turn on the Bluetooth option.
  3. Select the Jabra Solemate from the list of bluetooth devices to connect to the phone.
  4. The Jabra Solemate and the mobile phone are now ready to be used to play music. In the future you can turn on the Jabra Solemate and it will automatically connect to the mobile phone without needing to pair again, just turn both devices on and wait for the "Solemate is connected" announcement.
  5. As long as you don’t pair the Jabra with any other devices this will continue to automatically connect to the mobile phone.

How to play music on the Jabra Solemate from any mobile phone using a standard stereo cable

  1. These instructions show you how to hook up any mobile phone to the Jabra Solemate using a cable to play audio.
  2. First locate the headphone socket on your mobile phone. It is a small round socket on your phone which is 3.5mm wide and you may need to refer to your phone's instruction manual to find it. It is also referred to as a headphone jack, 3.5mm jack or 3.5mm phone connector [2].
  3. With the speaker turned off locate the line in port on the Jabra Solemate. This can be located on the right of the speaker between the power switch and the USB port.
  4. Connect the headphone socket on the mobile phone to the line in on the Jabra Solemate port using a 3.5mm stereo male to 3.5mm stereo male cable [3].
  5. Any audio being played on the phone should stop playing on the phone speaker and play on the Jabra Solemate instead.
  6. After turning on the speaker you will hear a "Bluetooth off" announcement, this means that the speaker will only play audio from the line in port . You can now play audio on the Jabra Solemate from any mobile phone. [AD]
